Case Study

Columbus Women.info

A website designed for a university course in 2016. ColumbusWomen.info aims to connect women in Columbus with blog articles about womanhood and resources from their community to get or give help.

CHALLENGE

ColumbusWomen hosts blog articles and Columbus volunteer opportunities over five categories: business, healthcare, education, sexuality, and abuse.

The challenge was dividing this content into the knowledgebase and the volunteer opportunities for each category. We needed to show articles belonging to both of two categories (e.g. Business and Volunteer), or exclude certain categories (e.g. Business posts that are not Volunteer opportunities).

SOLUTION

Using the List Category Posts plugin, I created custom landing pages for each discipline. These landing page separate content into articles and volunteer opportunities.

I was also able to create custom sidebars for each landing page, which provided more targeted phone numbers in the “Get Help” section. The custom sidebars also include recent posts in that category that are not from the Volunteer category.
